White twin set and jhumka’s
** Zeenat Aman x Madhu Bala meets 2016**
So “Valentine” is here and the weather is amazing too.
And I am my own Valentine!
I am not the kind of person who gets all excited for Valentine’s Day but I do love to dress up and treat myself with a gift or two ( ps : I am also doing a post on what I got myself this Valentine’s). So the weather is pretty amazing right now. You can wear a leather jacket if you want to and you can wear a dress too. So I decided to an elegant and simple valentine look for you guys. I did not want the look to be mainstream so I avoided the normal valentine colors pink and red.
Remember Zeenat Aman in the song “Chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko”? But why am I talking about that? Well remember the beautiful white flared jumpsuit she wore in that song? I totally loved it, it is so seventies and I absolutely anything seventies and I bet you do too. I love twin sets too. And remember the beautiful jhumka’s that Madhu Bala wore in Mughal-e-Azam song “Jab pyaar kiya toh darna kya”? Well I tried to create a Valentine’s look inspired by the old Bollywood charm.
Well, I call it “Zeenat Aman x Madhu Bala meet 2016”.
But why jhumka’s with a white twin set? Because why not? Also because one day when I was street shopping in Janpath, wearing big golden jhumka’s with a high neck top, I heard some girls giggling and commenting about how ridiculously I had dressed. I knew I had to do a post about it and what better occasion that Valentine’s Day right? Girls, it is not about following every fashion rule, it is about how many you break and still look good. Also, sticking to the fashion rules is kind of boring!
Finally coming to the outfit. Firstly, the white twin set that I am wearing is not a twin set. **Tadaaaa** I mixed and matched stuff from my wardrobe to get the prefect “Zeenat Aman meets 2016” version of the white jumpsuit. Recently I came across an instagram page called Almond by Ruchi and I immediately fell in love with their accessories. They handcraft beautiful accessories using semi-precious stones which strike a perfect balance between traditional and modern. I paired these beautiful pearl jhumka’s with the twin set and added a delicate bracelet with uncut semi-precious stones. The pearls in the jhumka’s complemented the white twin set perfectly. I totally loved how ethereal and dreamy the look turned out. To complete my look, I added a studded white sling bag from Lavie. Their bags are drool worthy and they have an amazing sale going on right now.
