| What I wore for Day 1 of AIFWAW17 |
I always believe in the ideology that we should wear clothes that matter, clothes that have a story and clothes that define you and your individuality. Staying true to my ideology I decided to wear outfits that were inspired my favourite designers for all four days of the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 17.
It’s no secret that I have a thing for over the top fashion. I was in love with the Gucci Fall Winter’17 collection as soon as I saw their show (thank god for internet) and I knew I had to do a Gucci inspired look. Everyone wants a piece of Gucci but not everyone can afford Gucci. I decided to do a classic white shirt and black skirt combination but there had to nothing basic about it. Maximal is the minimal!
I wore a Victorian collar ruffle shirt. This thrifted shirt has been a part of my wardrobe for more than 5 years now. I paired it up with a button up hand-painted leather skirt from Adagio. To add OTT vintage vibe to my outfit I wore beautiful white crystal and tassel earrings and lace cut-out sunglasses. Details add character to the look. I added a deer brooch to my shirt and wore my gold watch over the shirt sleeve. To complement the ruffles on my shirt, I added ruffle wedges. A coffin bag with embroidered roses and bright red lips were finishing touches to my look.
Check out the detailed break up of the look in the pictures.

Favourite Shows from Day 1
Day 1 started with “The Handloom School” supported by Good Earth
The Handloom School was all about boxy and loose silhouettes and the colors like white, cream, beige and navy blues were dominated the runway.
Vogue Sari 24/7
Vogue has completed 10 years in Indian Market and they decided to do their first show in association with AIFW. This was hands down the most anticipated show of Day 1. Who doesn’t love sarees? The show was started by the beautiful voice of Monica Dogra and she looked like a dream in a Chanderi sari.
Indeed it was a beautiful show. Sari with a robe, belted sari, ruffle sari, sari with tassels, sari with a cape, candy colored pastel sari, this show was a visual treat and I honestly did not want this show to end. When I thought I could not love sarees anymore, Vogue Sari 24×7 happened. Though it was very difficult to pick out favourites, these are the ones that I liked the most.
( L-R : Sari with a robe Bodice by Ruchika Sachdeva, Ruffle Sari by Vineet Bahl, Pastel hued Sari by Anavilla)
My absolute favourite was fringe tassel saree by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
It’s a really long post. Thank you for reading. Next coming up is my Day 2 outfit and favourite shows.
Until Next time
