Shades of a Woman

The woman of today! She is fierce. She is kind. She doesn’t necessarily follow the rules. She is ambitious yet caring. She is independent. She doesn’t need a man to fulfill her dreams. She is her own hero. The protagonist of her own story. The prince of her own Fairy tale. She wants to break the prejudices. Women is the only real life hero I know.

I recently collaborated with an Instagram page called Hot as Red for a blogger competition. They sent me pretty baubles that I had to style. I took this as a perfect opportunity to capture shades of a woman as accessories accentuate the feminism of a woman.

Waiting for someone she looks so lost, but you can’t see the million neurons buzzing inside her brain.

When she looks at you, she makes you feel like you are only one that exists.

Her demeanor is strong, shielding the nervousness tingling her toes.

The hot breeze on her face and the smell of summer makes her feel alive.

The Sun on her face can only match the fierceness inside her, the water can only match the calm on her face.

Dreams in her eyes and emeralds in her ear.

She believes in Art, She believes in Science.

And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, she grew as a woman.

“She burned too bright for this world.”
― Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights

So I had this concept in my mind for a long time and Hot as Red helped me make it true. In this post I am wearing a dress as a top tucked in with a short navy pencil skirt. This look is pretty simple but the accessories took it a notch higher. I accessorised with pretty emerald tassel earrings and a statement ring. You know the best part about this ring? It comes with multiple stones, I got red, green, white and blue with mine. So you can put in the stone and match it to different colors of your outfits. Isn’t that cool?

Don’t you think wearing bracelets on your arms is too passe? Well I wore my chunky golden studded bracelet from Hot as Red at the back of my dress and it elevated the simple look of my outfit and gave it the oomph it needed. Also there is a notion that golden and silver accessories don’t work well together. Well ofcourse they do! I wore my silver heels, silver mirrored sunnies and carried a silver clutch, so I think gold and silver go pretty well together.
