Roots ft. Bhane

We were all Nomads once,
We feared nature,
We worshiped nature,
The Sun, the fire, the winds, the rain, the moon, the earth
It is all about giving back to mother nature.
We are because she is.

Bhane is a brand that needs no introduction, like seriously! You would have come across some one who has modeled for a streetstyle shoot for Bhane or worked with them. It is absolutely amazing how this brand is connected to the people. I am a maximalist who believes in statement pieces but somehow I have always loved this brand. Their clothes are simple with clean cuts but I would not do the mistake of calling their clothes basic. Bhane gives you everyday fashion that is comfortable and makes you stand out . Their simple clothes make a modern statement.

With each new collection this brand stays true to it’s aesthetic, the simple and clean cuts. Working with this brand was a dream come true. This print in khakhi color is one of my favourite prints from Bhane. This ankle length maxi is a beauty with clean cuts and statement pockets. Khakhi has become one of my favourite colors because of the understated elegance it has.

I did not want to style this dress the normal way ( you guys are kinda sick of reading this everytime, aren’t you?) so I decided to dress it up a bit. This dress reminded me of our roots, the earth and the beautiful color it has and how we all are an extension of mother nature, a part of her, that explains the henna tattoos on my hands. I wanted my thoughts to come alive through pictures. I tied a brown belt around my waist and wore kohlapuri chappals. Accessory play is what takes this look a notch higher. I wore golden jhumka’s that I bought from my local market. I added golden bangles and gold rings. The color of soil is the color of my dress, “gold”, the color of sun is the color of my accessories. Though khakhi and gold sounds like an awkward combination, it works together beautifully.

I completed my look with a shade of plum lipstick and three dots on my forehead. I center parted my hair and tied them into a low ponytail. I added brown lennon sunglasses.

What do you think about this look?
I have been really excited for this post since a long time now, I hope you guys like it.
