Ditch those lehanga’s this festive season
Metallic Silver Suit : | Heels : Zara | Silver Necklaces : Janpath | Nude Crop top : Sarojini
Let’s suit up this festive season? Well if not a lehanga what would a girl wear to a wedding? Society has set some fashion rules about men and women but I think fashion is something where gender ambiguity comes in. Well it’s a general convention that Indian men wear suits to wedding and women either wear a saree or a lehanga, it’s time we break these conventions. We have Jaden Smith wearing skirts now so women let’s suit up!
Androgyny doesn’t mean dressing up like a man. Androgyny is fluid, it’s all about mixing the masculine and feminine trends together. Androgyny entered the mainstream fashion scene in the seventies with Jimi Hendrix often seen wearing heels and blouses during his performances. Since then there is no looking back and the trend has been growing. Though all I see is lehangas, ankarkali suits and sarees during the festivities I wanted my festive outfit to be different.
Metallics are trending this season and metallics are so festive. I found this beautiful satin silk silver suit at Summation. I absolutely loved the over-sized coat. In my quest to find something different to wear for the festive season I knew I had found the perfect piece, a beautiful silver suit. Festival season is all about doing over the top everything. So I layered my favourite silver necklaces and wore a big silver nose pin and went for black lips ( thanks to my friend Dolly for telling me the secret behind the perfect cheap black lipstick). I kept my hair open cause there was a lot going all already and finished the look with silver pumps.
You can buy this silver suit at Summation.
Also I am pretty excited that Fashion Week is starting tommorow. Do follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (id : charuta_arvind) for all the fashion week madness.
Let’s experiment a little this festive season.
Until Next Time,
