Patiala Salwar : Tailored | Dupatta : Vintage | Bangles : Delhi Haat | Earrings : Lucknow Jewelry Market

I love the season of festivities, the air smells different, the markets are flooded with excited people negotiating with the street vendors, you can see the lights twinkling in the shops and the aroma of scrumptious street food entering your nostrils that tingles you in the stomach. I absolutely love this season. This love compelled me to do a festive post for you guys.

I got this amazing tomato red maxi top from zachi store. Maxi tops have been a rage for quite a while and this trend doesn’t seem to be fading. This top has a long front and short, blouse like back detailing. I have seen people wearing maxi tops with jeans, leggings, shorts and maxi skirts.Since I believe in the theory of “anything but basic” , I styled this bright red top way differently.

I love Indian Fashion. Aren’t these long tops are basically kurta’s that we have been wearing forever? Isn’t maxi skirt a sister of Lehanga? Aren’t crop tops the modern version of blouses that our mothers and grandmothers have been wearing since time immemorial? Therefore I decided to give this top an Indian twist.Influenced by the culture of Punjab, where I grew up, I styled this top with Indian pink patiala salwar. I love how the colors complement each other and the spirit of festival. I added a Vintage Dupatta with Zari, Dabza and Pearl work with a Gotta border.

I did not go overboard with the accessories and added vintage style golden jhumkaa’s and pale gold bangles. Your accessories need not be the same matching shade of gold. Red being such a festive color, I painted my lips red. I tied my hair up in a bun and I was festive ready.
