What I wore to AIFW16

Fashion Week outfit diaries

Fashion is sacred for me. I love experimenting with my personal style and sharing those experiments with you. I was as nervous as a kid is on the first day of the school for Fashion Week but that nervousness did not keep me from planing by outfits well in advance ( call me crazy but I wanted everything to be perfect). Fashion Week is so hectic but I loved every bit of it, without further a do lets start with the outfits.

This year the theme for Fashion Week was India Modern so I planned my day 1 outfit to go with the theme. I wore a raw silk shift dress with Goddess Durga painted on it that symbolized female power. People were awestruck when I told them that I designed and painted this dress myself and some did not even believe me. I added golden bangles and a jhumka in one ear. I added a plum lip color and a big black bindi. I carried a golden clutch and wore gold winged flats. Yay for over-top dressing and killing it on day 1!

Tasseling all the way

I was tassel-ing all the way on day 2 of Fashion Week and believe me tassels aren’t going out of fashion anytime soon, you can expect a lot of tassels for AW16. So I went over the top and wore my own design again on day 2. I did the micro trend tassels and combined by love for co-ords or twin sets together with power dressing and statement clothing. The blazer paired with midi skirt gave me sense of power and I was ready to take over the world.

Bringing my quirk on

I got my quirk on and did a laid back look for day III of Fashion Week. Well I can’t seem to get over Rihanna’s latest song *work, work, work*  and this dress from Brime stole my heart for obvious reasons. This dress is a statement piece and it totally defined my quirky style. I wore quirky ice-cream earrings and added a fun lip clutch that I made. I made a man bun ( if you haven’t still noticed I curled my hair on day 1 and I was too tired and lazy to wash them, hence the hairstyles hehehe I have got some talent, haven’t I?). I added powder blue block heels and mint retro sunglasses.

India Modern *staying true to the theme*

Staying true to the theme I dressed like a queen on day 4 of the Fashion Week, clad in all velvet, silk and gold. I wore a velvet high neck top with Banarasi silk brocade skirt from my own brand Adagio. I tied my hair up in a bun ( day 4 of curled hair) and layered a gold necklace. I added ghunghroo bangles and a gold temple ring that I made from scratch. You can buy this ring here.
