| The Blazer Story |
Block printed blazer : Blueprint by Navya and Divya Niranjan | Palazzo : Thrifted | Maang Tikka : Lucknow jewellery market | Gold choker : Vintage
At times I feel that the Indian element is missing in our fashion scene. We are all blatantly copying the western trends, though there are campaigns like #iwearhandloom but they are forgotten as soon as they come. In this world of fast fashion, elements of Indian fashion like kanchivaram, block printing, ikkat, chikankari are losing their importance. But there are some brands that strike the right balance between the traditional and modern and one of them is Blueprint by sister duo Navya and Divya.
Founded in 2011, Blueprint is fashion with a balancing act between elegance, colour and print. It is an ongoing dialogue with fashion and art. Blueprint is distinctive fashion that celebrates the individual. Its styles are artistically bold and unmistakable. Our designs should travel the world and say its story about the strong and sophisticated individual.
Blueprint creates simple minimal designs and the fabrics they use add the richness to their designs. The blazer that I am wearing from their fall collection is a perfect example of that. The design of the blazer is contemporary and the block printed fabric adds the touch of Indianess to the design. I absolutely love the padded shoulders of the blazer that add a vintage charm.
I decided to style the blazer with hints of traditional therefore I added a Maang Tikka and a Vintage gold choker and I paired it with my black palazzos since I wanted the blazer to be the highlight of my look. What I absolutely love is the high-low design of the blazer which is absoluetly unique, I have not seen something like this in the longest time.
