I am a really choosy buyer. Whenever I go out for shopping and I look at something I always feel like ” I can easily make this at home”. This really infuriates my sister but old habits die-hard. My friend Dolly has the same DIY bug. So we decided to get together for a DIY post. Both of us have used lace and pearls to create two different looks for you guys.
I DIY’d a vintage style high neck lace pearl top and if you want to make one for you, here’s what you would require :
- A pair of scissors
- Two different white or cream crochet laces
- thread and needle
- Fabric glue
HOW TO :
Start by placing pearls at the desired positions on the top.
Start gluing the pearls using fabric glue. You can sew them too if you want.
I used the smaller scalloped lace for the neck. Sew the lace in place as glue would not do any good.
I used the lace with scalloped flowers for the sleeve opening. I have been obsessed with scallops lately and this lace gives a rather romantic look to the sleeves. Simply cut the desired length of the lace and stitch it.
Your vintage inspired lace and pearls top is ready. It literally took me 5 minutes to transform this top from drab to fab.
ABOUT THE LOOK :
I wanted to do a rather 70s look inspired from Free People. ( cause I am totally obsessed with the seventies)
Lace and pearl top : DIY | Sunglasses : gifted | 70s style flared jeans : Max Fashions | White Sling Bag : Lavie World
This look is so Free People’s, you can totally see the similarity right? Flared jeans, Lennon glasses and vintage-y high neck tops and wavy hair. I am obsessed with seventies fashion and you can check my previous seventies fashion inspired posts here, here and here . Me and Dolly are big time DIY lovers and our blogs are never complete without one DIY element in them, be it earrings or a brooch. For this one we are showing you two entirely different looks and DIYs with lace and pearls. Also I am pretty excited as this is our second post together, you can check out our first Indie boho look here.
Coming to the look, I kept it pretty simple as the lace pearl top made quite a statement. I paired my lace pearl top with flared leg denims for the seventies chic. Flared denim have made a come back and it’s the right time to invest in a pair. Girls if you wanted to make your legs longer, flared denims are the way to go. I paired my denims with my Oxford wedges and it gave me an illusion of longer legs. Holding true to the seventies vibe, I added a pair of Lennon glasses and a white cross-body sling bag. I kept my hair and messy and opted for a dark plum lip color.
